Testimony of Joyce Hogi Before the

New York City Industrial Development Agency

Regarding the Yankee Stadium Parking Garages

New York has such creative, smart people. Why on earth would our city officials abdicate to such an  ill-conceived project?

What about transportation alternatives? These funds would be better spent building a Metro North station at Yankee Stadium, expanding the rehabilitation of the Melrose station on the New Haven/Harlem lines and improving the 161st Street subway station that would benefit this up and coming neighborhood year round.

We don’t need garages that benefit the Yankee fans 80 – 90 days a year while providing little revenue to the city and no convenience to the community.

Don’t we as New York City residents have a voice in this matter? These are our taxes! The City has to do better by its residents!
